Ruel Tyer
LPC, PhD, Pastoral Counselor
Ruel Tyer is passionate about learning what makes people tick. His interest in the field started when he was in high school and took shape in his undergraduate years. Ruel’s passion has morphed and shaped into not just knowing what makes people who they are but also helping people learn to press more into their relationship with God. Ruel specializes in working with males, specifically from adolescents to adulthood. Men face unique challenges given the culture that molds and shapes their masculinity, emotional make-up, and mental well-being. Ruel seeks to meet men where they are and help them learn how to cope with various emotional and mental struggles, such as anxiety, depression, anger, or whatever may be plaguing them. Ruel is married to a beautiful, God-fearing woman. He was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina. His parents have been married for 50 years, and he’s the youngest of four boys as well as an identical twin.
